GENET is a network of physicians, specialists in medical genetics, whose main objective is the development of a new synergy between clinical specialties, medical and laboratory genetics.

The increasing presence of medical and laboratory genetics in the daily practice of different specialists, requires a paradigm shift in addressing the pathways of genetic diagnosis of their patients.

There is the need to know and govern the new technologies for the investigation of the genome (NGS), to know in depth the diagnostic potential and limitations for rare and less rare forms, the extension of investigations to the family, the setting of targeted follow-up.

These goals will be achieved if there will be a greater collaboration between the branch specialist, the specialist in medical genetics and laboratory specialists, which is a guarantee of the appropriateness of the internal path.
